New FBO with Terminal, Hangars, and Concrete Ramp

The main elements of this multi-phase project consisted of constructing three hangar structures (39,600 SF each) with attached office/shop spaces and associated parking areas, a new 250,000-SF concrete-paved ramp, a two-story terminal building, a fuel farm, and a GSE building. Other elements included environmental permitting for the relocation of burrowing owls, utility design, and airspace evaluation. MDG provided civil engineering design services and coordinated with consultants, subconsultants, and local agencies to permit and approve the design plans.

General Aviation Terminal

The Zephyrhills Municipal Airport (ZPH) Fixed Base Operator (FBO) for general aviation (GA) currently operates out of a small building in the west quadrant of the airport. The facility is old and has been renovated, but it cannot meet the continuing needs of the airport. The City of Zephyrhills and ZPH require a new GA terminal from which the FBO can operate efficiently well into the future. The new 8,000-square-foot building will be located just north of the existing FBO building. It will include landside access, vehicular parking, aircraft parking apron, pilot and passenger amenities (lobby, pilot’s lounge, vending, rental car services, etc.), and administrative offices.
